Final Cut



Seattle is in chaos. An ingenious bomber is systematically destroying downtown and causing widespread panic and fear. Politicians, the public and bomb disposal officers are in a state of shock as bomb squad causalities and destruction add up, with no clue of the bomber's identity nor any hope of catching him.

Captain Mamet reluctantly calls in Pierce (SAM ELLIOTT), a retired hot-shot bomb cutting specialist who left the force under a cloud of suspicion when a bomb killed his partner. Cynical as he is, Pierce is still the best- it's as though the bombs talk to him- and Mamet must trust his instincts. Pierce hopes to catch the bomber, who may be the same on who set him up; he is teamed up with Kathleen Hardy (ANNE RAMSAY), a beautiful and ambitious officer in the squad who believed in Pierce's innocence all along.

As the investigation mounts and the bombing escalates, Pierce and Hardy find themselves helpless as two more young bomb cutters are killed. The public is clamoring for an arrest and the deputy governor wants to replace Pierce with Colonel Reynold Forsyth, an eagar bomb expert from the army. Forsyth has his own theory that implicated Pierce, who is one of a select group of people who could device such intricate bombs.

Meanwhile, Pierce is led to a deserted parking lot by a phone call from the elusive bomber. He approaches the car and notices that it is bobby trapped. Pierce flees as the car explodes, but not before he is seen by the security guard. Now his face is on every television screen in the country, plastered above the caption: "The Seattle Bomber."

With no other option, Pierce becomes a fugitive, and Mamet brings in Forsyth to track him down. Pierce, with Hardy's aid, must now find the bomber himself, who has built his most deadly and demented bomb yet…the human bomb. Hunched over a terrified girl who is connected to wires and strapped to an elevator floor, Pierce is all concentration. Three seconds remain, his heart races…does he cut the blue wire or the green wire. For Pierce and the girl, life or death depends on his choice. And the next cut may just be "The Final Cut."

Amanda Plummer (PLUP FICTION and THE FISHER KING), John Hannah 9FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL) and Charles Martin Smith (AMERICAN GRAFFITI and THE UNTOUCHABLES) and Matt Craven (CRIMSON TIDE and A FEW GOOD MEN) are breathtaking as the talented supporting cast in this tense action thriller directed by Roger Christian.
